It was realised in 1922 as part of the portfolio "Stage Folk: A Book of Caricatures" that included 41 linocuts of caricatures representing his work from 1907-1922.
It was published by the small publishing house of Lieber and Lewis in a limited edition of 500 copies.
This print shows the popular Shakespearean actress Julia Marlowe (1866-1950) in the 1912 New York production of Romeo and Juliet.
Her first appearance in London was in the fairy play The Sunken Bell at the Waldorf in 1907 which had transferred from the Lyric Theatre in New
York, performing alongside her actor husband E. H. Sothern (1859-1933).
