Equipo Realidad was a group residing in Valencia and consisting of Jorge Ballester (Valencia, 1941) and Juan Cardells (Valencia, 1948).They share the same aesthetic and methodological approach as "Equipo Cronica” created by Vicente Aguilera Cerni and promoted by Tomás Llorens, although their show a deliberate anti-aesthetic attitude, expressed by the documentary nature of their work. Their style evolved from the critical realism that emerged in Spain in the mid-sixties, in response to the exhaustion of Art informel, and was influenced by French narrative figuration and the Pop Art movement.
