This etching is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Ernst Oppler" at the lower right margin.
It is hand inscribed with the title in pencil “Rüssisches Ballett” [Russian Ballet] at the lower left margin.
The work is also signed in the plate “E. Oppler” at the lower right image.
It was printed for inclusion in the Zeitschrift für Bildende Kunst [ Journal of Fine Arts], Leipzig in 1913.
The paper bears a partial Van Gelder Zonen watermark.
Another impression of this subject is found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
Condition: Very good condition. Adhesive staining in all four corners. Soft creasing and minor nicks along the upper and lower sheet edges. Remnants of hinging tape at two points along the upper sheet edge, verso.
